Meet Catherine Schwartz
Catherine invited us to her beautiful home in the south of Luxembourg to decorate her tree for Christmas. We spoke about all things interior design, beauty and creativity in time for the festive season. Teacher by trade and creative by nature, Catherine’s new home is a canvas for her creative expression that brings her deep fulfilment in life. Her style has an elevated minimalist elegance where Catherine’s careful eye for detail invites beauty into each corner. Hand-tying white silk bows on the Christmas tree opposite the long family table decorated with hand-written notes, flower arrangements and Christmas candles, we asked Catherine about her inspiration. ‘It has to come from inside you and be true to what you feel is beautiful and reflect you. People see my home or the decorations I make and say ‘That is so Catherine’ because it reflects who I am, not necessarily what is trendy. Following that inner voice will lead to your creativity and unique touch.’ Pointing to all the small details of the tree and her home, she shared with us ‘Inspiration just comes to me as I go about my every day, it might be as simple as a flower I see in the shop, a moment of creating with the children at work or a magazine.’ We at Romantico love Catherine’s philosophy on beauty where inspiration is found everywhere, each detail is met with care and creativity comes from expressing yourself!
What is Christmas about for you? ‘Christmas is about being together, it’s a celebration of love and family. It’s a time that feels special with everyone making themselves and their homes look beautiful. And for me, Christmas is a time when I look back on everything that has happened in the year.’
